| Accountant’s Copy |
- The Accountant’s Copy Change Report now allows the user to “QuickZoom” the transaction by double- clicking the listed imported transactions.
- The messaging displayed when updating an Accountant’s Copy (.QBX) file from QuickBooks 2008 to QuickBooks 2009 has been updated to communicate the level of backwards compatibility between the Accountant’s Copy features of each version.
- The Accountant’s Copy no longer updates the Check Number field when importing the Accountant’s changes. The Check Number field was not intended to be changeable by the Accountant.
- QuickBooks now automatically saves the Change Report as a PDF at the end of an Accountant’s Copy import.
- The Client Data Review feature now shows items that were previously hidden while in an Accountant’s Copy. If these features are accessed, a message appears explaining that these features are not available.
- QuickBooks no longer crashes while importing Accountant’s Copy changes after the client restrictions have been removed.
- QuickBooks no longer appears to be frozen while saving Accountant’s Changes in PDF format. A message now appears with information while the PDF is being created.
- QuickBooks no longer automatically saves a PDF report of the Accountant Changes when the import failed because of an invalid transaction.
- QuickBooks no longer displays an unexpected or fatal error when importing an Accountant’s Copy file that contains unsupported Finance Charge changes from a different version of QuickBooks.
- Quickbooks no longer crashes after applying an invoice, and then switching to the vendor tab.
- Quickbooks no longer crashes after applying a payment to deposit and then editing the payment item.
- QuickBooks no longer displays an unexpected error and closes when importing Accountant’s Copy changes that include a Home Currency Adjustment.
- When importing an Accountant’s Copy, the Multi-Currency Exchange rate change is now imported for existing Receive Payment transactions.
- QuickBooks versions prior to QuickBooks 2009 no longer display messages about the External Accountant user, because this user is a feature only available in QuickBooks 2009 and later.
- QuickBooks will no longer display a severe error when importing a deposit through the accountant’s copy that contained multiple currencies.
- Multi-currency Exchange Rates entered by accountants to Journal Entry are now imported.

| Accounts Payable |
- Account Payable field has been added to “Record a Bill Pmt” if there are multiple Account Payable accounts.
- While in the Record an Expense workflow, when a Vendor that has open bills is selected, a message appears saying, “This vendor has open bills. To add a bill payment, click the ‘Not an expense?’ link in the upper right and then click ‘Select open bills to pay in QuickBooks.’
- Open bills for an inactive Account Payable is no longer displayed in the Pay Bills workflow.

| Accounts Receivable |
- Negative amounts on the Deposit workflow no longer appear with parentheses.
- If the deposit amount is larger that the Invoice amount, the Receive Payment is now linked to the Invoice.
- Payment balance of $0.00 has been removed from Payment Receipt to prevent the possibility of user confusion caused by thinking the account balances might be $0.00 when user is actually still owed money.
- QuickBooks no longer attempts to connect to the Internet before opening the Receive Payments or Create Sales Receipts screens when no Internet connection is available.

- Scheduled backup no longer fails when different scheduled tasks (for different company file) run at the same time.
- You can now make a manual backup of one file while a scheduled backup is running for a second file.
- The backup that is made before upgrading from QuickBooks 2006 to QuickBooks 2009 now has QuickBooks 2006 as the header and not QuickBooks 2009 as the header, making the backup usable in QuickBooks 2006.

- Turning off price levels no longer causes the Custom Field Label to obscure the first field in the customer Custom Fields.
- The Income/Expense graph widget in the Company snapshot is now updated, based on the saved Report preferences.

- The performance of the Client Data Review tool has been improved. Switching between Vendors and Customers or Vendor transactions and Customer transactions is much faster.
- Items in the Client Data Review that are reviewed and marked with an R, now retain the R, even when future changes are made to the items.
- The QuickZoom and Adjustments on the Working Trial Balance are now available to External Accountant users in QuickBooks Pro.

- QuickBooks.com websites now communicate with QuickBooks 2009 to set up a “persona” that helps provide knowledgebase and support suggestions based on certain product and system information collected and stored in the persona. No personally identifiable information is stored.

- Financial Statement Designer no longer displays an error locating the data.fsd folder when the only installed Edition of QuickBooks is an Enterprise edition.

- The Google Desktop Search plugin now correctly indexes the system and the QuickBooks file on 64bit computers.

| Help |
- The “Information about updating company files” section of Help Topic was rewritten to be more complete.
- Help topic “Write a refund check for an overpayment” now incorporates the “Overpayment” prompt that appears in the lower left corner of the Receive Payments window. This allows users to automatically issue a refund without having to select the Banking menu and select Write Checks.
- The Multicurrency Resource Center menu item now opens the Resource Center.
- Content was added to Help topic explaining why Billing Solutions aren’t available for non-US transactions.
- Help topics were added explaining changing the QuickBooks on-screen font sizes.
- Help topics were added to address the new External Account feature.
- The E-Book link in Premier now goes to the proper website that does not require an access code.
- Help Topics were added to address the Client Data Review feature.
- 3 Help topics were added: International payments (overview), Enter a foreign customer payment in QuickBooks, and Enter a foreign bill payment in QuickBooks. These topics are available only when Multi-Currency is on.

- There is now an Intuit Statement Writer option to bring back all One Time Messages that were previously dismissed.
- The Statement Date Format in the Intuit Statement Writer now changes the row height based on the contents of the cell.
- Intuit Statement Writer no longer displays the Error: “Unable to access file to insert the manifest into the xls file” when trying to open a .qsm file if a .xls file with the same name is in the same location.
- Insert is now greyed out when the ability to insert should be disabled.
- The stylesheeets have been updated to allow formulas to take effect right away when inserting data between existing columns.
- Intuit Statement Writer no longer displays the error: Data.xls exception when ISW.Header2 is Bold and Font is “Brush Script MT” in Excel 2007.
- If a modal dialog is open in QuickBooks, it no longer causes Intuit Statement Writer to close unexpectedly when creating a statement.
- QuickBooks now displays a warning when opening the Intuit Statement Writer for the first time if the user is not a Quickbooks Administrator. Previously, the Statement Writer just did not open.
- Intuit Statement Writer Migration Utility no longer allows the user to specify a folder to save the migrated file in. This should always be the default folder.
- Intuit Statement Writer no longer displays an Extra line for Total Liabilities when on a Balance Sheet statement converted from Financial Statement Designer.
- Intuit Statement Writer no longer show an incorrect 0 value for prior period variance in files converted from Financial Statement Designer.
- The Statement Out of Balance no longer calculate inconsistently when the rounding and floating point precision are used.
- Statements converted from Financial Statement Designer no longer have complex ambiguous names like QBFS{- 1284723897489273489}.
- Intuit Statement Writer now correctly calculates Income (Loss) Before Taxes in statements converted from Financial Statement Designer.
- When duplicate account names are encountered, Intuit Statement Writer now displays a message listing the duplicate names and suggesting that the user edit accounting preferences to clear the “Show lowest subaccount only” checkbox. Previously a Fatal Error message: “QuickBooks SDK returned an invalid result” appeared.
- Financial Statement Designer now launches without error on Windows Vista computers. Previously the errors “callback application cannot be found” and “class not registered error code 132″ appeared. The errors did not prevent Financial Statement Designer from opening.
- Intuit Statement Writer no longer removes custom formatting setup using Excel features when data is refreshed from QuickBooks.
- Intuit Statement Writer now opens the correct Web page when choosing to purchase via the Internet.
- Intuit Statement Writer no longer un-hides columns hidden using Excel functionality when Intuit Statement Writer is refreshed.
- The Supporting Documents have been updated to include the merge fields Client_Country, Client_Legal_Country and Basis. Microsoft Word no longer displays “unrecognized merge field” errors when creating a supporting document using the template.
- Intuit Statement Writer now hides the QuickZoom button when the highlighted cell cannot be QuickZoomed.
- QuickZooming from Intuit Statement Writer no longer maximizes QuickBooks when it was not maximized before.

- The QuickBooks list review screen no longer fails to show updated description information for a Sales Tax Group item that was created in prior versions of QuickBooks, then updated to QuickBooks 2009 and edited.

| Multi-Currency |
- Currency formatting has been improved on transactions shown in the print preview screen before they are saved.
- Line items are no longer affected by exchange rate changes for purchase transactions.
- Values In Transaction/Home Currency now appear and print on the Transaction Summary Reports.
- An unexpected error no longer occurs when saving a new Vendor in the Vendor Center when the list is sorted by currency.
- A customer’s currency can now be changed if a price level is associated with the Customer.
- Invoice now shows amounts for a customer in the currency set for that customer, rather than showing all amounts on the invoice as USD.
- Transactions added using the SDK now allow depositing into home currency accounts from foreign currency accounts.
- When entering exchange rates, using the tab key no longer results in uneditable date entry.
- QuickBooks no longer calculates and displays the total of the Foreign Amount column. This total does not translate to any real amount when more than 1 foreign currency is used.
- Cash-basis balance sheet no longer goes out of balance with checks, GJE, or credit card charges with split lines of a/r or a/p – when paid and gain/loss is attached.
- Deleting a check/GJE/credit card charge with an a/r or a/p split – linked to a payment now deletes the gain/loss amount from the payment transaction.
- The columns for Sick Rate, Vacation Limit, Vacation Rate and Vacation Available are now available columns to select on the Employee Contact List, Paid Time Off List, Emergency Contact List, New Hire List, and Terminated Employees List reports.
- Multi Currency on exchange rate on the assess finance charges windows now defaults based on date.

- The display of the tax rate for SDI was updated for the new year.
- You no longer see the message “QuickBooks is having trouble installing your Payroll Tax Forms Updates” when the print engine is not installed properly.
- Customers living in Alaska and California are now able to set up the Occupational, Geographical, and Wage Plan codes using the Payroll Setup feature.
- The text on the Print/E-file Form screen for W-2/W-3 no longer displays instructions from last year. (This change appeared as part of another update but should show up about the time Release 4 is made available.)
- The AK and CA codes now flow to the forms when there are more than 10 employees and they are all missing social security numbers.

- The QuickFill of list elements in the Online Banking workflow has been improved.

- The memo field is now only pre-filled when a payee is selected for online banking transactions.
- Record a Bill Payment: The number field is no longer editable if the downloaded transaction already has a number.
- You nNo longer get the message “..System.Xml.XmlException: >is an unexpected token ..” when the Online Banking WorkFlow is initiated and the Names list has more than 32768 names.
- QuickBooks no longer crashes when you add an Online Banking Transaction with a class containing special characters.
- Sales receipts added to deposits are now removed from un-deposited funds transaction list when matched to online banking transactions.
- You cCan now use names with <>without getting the message “..Unknown Tag in Window Text : <1>, function…”.
- Accounts no longer appear twice in the Account dropdown after an account is added in the Online Banking Work Flow.
- The item “Add New” is now available on the Credit Card Payment workflow.
- Quickfill now works with multiple account associations.
- Quickfill now works with long names that prefill.
- When the Account Numbers Preference is ON, the QuickFill now works when a name is typed.
- The “Add to QuickBooks” button now appears when all options are displayed.
- Sorting by date now sorts by date properly in the table for unmatched transactions.

- Transactions with an asterisk are now included in the auto-match to downloaded transactions.

- QuickBooks now displays the Online Banking center much faster.
- QuickBooks now closes help screens before opening the Online Banking Workflow screen so that the screens do not conflict with one another.
- Permission warnings no longer appear when the amounts match and the previous manual match was for a different amount.
- Account numbers no longer appear in the drop-down menus when the Use Account Numbers preferences is OFF.
