I'm able to pull a donation report that gives me the "customer" (donor) name and the total amount of "sales" (donations). This report (Sales by Customer Summary) does not give me any display options, so I cannot request it also display that customer's address, email, etc. information. I can pull a different report (Sales by Customer Detail) that gives me the name, address, any display option I want for information, then filter it to only be for donations, but then it line lists each time they donated. It requires all sorts of fancy footwork with Excel formulas and copy/paste and so forth to get a cumulative total that also includes the address information! Over 3 years I have spent probably 12 hours messing with reports trying to get a report that will give me the address information WITH the cumulative total of a specific item (in this case donations). Is there such a thing??? Thank you so much for your time.
As you've discovered, you can’t get address information on summary reports only on detail reports. However, you might want to play around with customizing letters (Company > Prepare Letters with Envelopes > Customize Letter Templates). The Nonprofit Thank You template is probably pretty close to what you’re looking for.
