How to Stop QuickBooks from Switching from Multi-User to Single User
A quicker, but less permanent solution, is to make sure that only the server has Stop Hosting Multi-User Access in File > Utilities. All the client workstations should have Host Multi-User Access. Neither option should be selected. You want the server to have Stop Hosting, which means it’s hosting, and the client workstations to say Host, which means they aren’t.
Also, keep in mind that the server has to be on for any of the other computers to access QuickBooks. QuickBooks doesn’t have to be open on the server though.
