How to Track Your Clothing Inventory by Size and Color Product Matrix in QuickBooks

Hello Ruth. I wanted to start off by saying Thank you for assisting us before with answering all of our questions. I am falling into problem I think we could mutually benefit. I currently have a QuickBooks Premier 2010 edition, I am trying to track my inventory of clothing by size and color(product matrix). I heard that QuickBooks POS and QuickBooks Enterprise have this. I would like to know what price do you currently have available since we are getting closer to the end of the year. Thank you again!

You can get a copy of our price list here – QuickBooks Price List.

However, style grids are only available in the Pro version of QuickBooks POS. They are not available in any version of QuickBooks financial, including Enterprise. However, QuickBooks POS will work fine with QuickBooks Premier 2010.

How to Book a Cashier’s Check Written from One Account to Another in QuickBooks

Hello Ruth. We are in the middle of switching banks. One of our managers withdrew funds from our NEW bank account and deposited the funds in the form of a cashier’s check into the OLD bank account to cover a check that had not yet cleared.Normally I use the “transfer funds” feature instead of deposit because we usually transfer funds on-line. But this time, we actually went into the bank and got a cashier’s check. How do I post this deposit?
You can still use the transfer funds feature. Or if you want to track the certified check number, you can write a check from the new bank account with the old bank as the expense account.

How to Book Pledges with Multiple Payment Dates in QuickBooks

We use the QuickBooks Non-profit. We are currently raising money for a kitchen renovation. I am not sure how to set it up in the chart of accounts and item list. One person has pledges $2,000.00. The $1,000 she will pay in Feb and the next $1,000 to be paid by June.
First create a revenue account called something like Pledges or Donations. Second, create a service item called the same thing using the revenue account you created. Then create two invoices (Customers > Create Invoices) for the pledges, both dated the day of the pledge – one with a due date of 2/1/12, the other with a due date of 6/1/2012. When you receive the payments, make sure to use Customers > Receive Payment.

News Flash – How will Christmas Holiday (Monday, December 26, 2011) Affect My QuickBooks Payroll Processing

To allow for the Christmas holiday, you might need to send payroll a day earlier than usual. Doing so will help you to comply with the Fair Labor Standards Act and ensure timely payroll tax payments.

If your normal paycheck date is on 12/26/2011, you should:

  1. Change your paycheck date for your direct deposit employees to Friday, 12/23/11.
  2. Send your payroll by 5 PM Pacific Time on Wednesday, 12/21/11.

If your paycheck date is immediately before or after Christmas Day, consult the table that follows to find out when to send your payroll and when your account will be debited.

QuickBooks Payroll Christmas

*Accounts are typically debited before regular banking hours, so you should make sure you have funds in your account to cover the payroll on the day before the actual debit occurs.
